KenJiva joins Illinois Smart Grid Policy Forum

This week, KenJiva Founder Mark Handy joined the  Illinois Smart Grid Policy Forum . The Forum has been created to encourage open discussion among stakeholders, policymakers, and other interested parties concerning the development of smart grid in Illinois. As with the Illinois Smart Grid Collaborative, this forum seeks to engage interested parties to receive ground floor feedback on issues pertaining to the deployment of the Smart grid.

Smart grid investments are being made to achieve a variety of goals including improved service reliability, direct and indirect cost savings for consumers, and to achieve boarder public policy goals such as integration of local generation and the promotion of smart energy usage. The agenda for this initial meeting provided time for both formal presentations and moderated discussion to encourage interaction between participants.  Stay tuned!
